With years of experience as a nail technician and a degree in Chemical Engineering from USF, in 2012, Charlie Ngo opened Studio 7 in the Publix shopping center in Westchase with one goal in mind - reduce his clients’ time and be a convenient one-stop shop.

For Charlie, the name Studio 7 is significant. Not only is it his lucky number, it represents what makes his location stand out above others in the same field. Unlike his competition, Studio 7 is opened Monday through Sunday for those who want their pampering available seven days a week.

With three stylists and four nail art technicians, he wanted to be make the shop services accessible to those professionals who work during the week to accommodate their busy schedules.

In addition to most hair care services, Studio 7 also offers nail care, facials, body treatments, makeup application and spa packages – bringing everything to one place, in one convenient location.

As an exclusive Redken and Pureology salon, Studio 7 use products which promote healthy hair. Keeping customer health and safety at the forefront, their Keratin Smoothing Treatments are formaldehyde and DDP free.

Every precaution is taken to ensure clients’ well-being. Nail art technicians practice sterilization and sanitization procedures similar to those of a dental office. Each client has their own bag of instruments used only for that customer. Their nail polish is formaldehyde free. In addition to beautiful gels and acrylics, Studio 7 offers nail color dipping powder derived from algae that offers the strength of acrylic without the solvent or need for curing under a UV light.

Additionally, Studio 7 offers one step above a traditional pedicure, using an all-natural line of products called NuSkin. NuSkin features foot soaks, scrubs, and masks and are available for clients to purchase.

“The NuSkin products appear to be effective against dry and cracked heals, especially for Floridian feet which are constantly in flip flops, dealing with all of the heat, and dehydration from the weather,” said Charlie. “Our customers can purchase and use at home in between salon services.”

Studio 7’s spa services offer facials that restore and rejuvenate the skin with a relaxing décolleté and facial massage, skin analysis, cleansing, and toning. Spa treatments also include scalp, arm, and hand massage with application of a moisturizer, hot towels with aromatherapy.

Waxing is available for face, arms, legs, and bikini area.

A salon using innovative and cutting-edge products and techniques, trending this summer in hair color is vibrant color. From PulpRiot’s purple Jam, Lemon yellow, Fireball red, Blush and Cupid pink, Aquatic blue and Absinthe Green to Smoke Gray and Powder blue, the season is filled with a rainbow hue of long lasting colors.

“It’s targeting a typically younger and more liberal age.”

Another trend in hair coloring is shades of platinum and titanium seen in all ages.

“The titanium is a little darker than that platinum which is more silver,” he explained.

Not only are vibrant colors and silvers the trend this season, but on the opposite of the spectrum, a natural-looking, low maintenance balayage ombre.

“It lasts up to 3 to 4 months,” he said.

With Westchase a little more on the conservative side, the salon also carries the standard shades of browns, blacks, blondes, and reds.

He explained that his stylists really enjoy taking clients from dark to blonde hair.

“We offer OlaPlex products that prevent breakage during the (color) lifting for people with dark hair who want to become blonde or lighter color,” he said. “During the process, some of the hair may not be able to tolerate the process and the brand-new line of OlaPlex additive prevents damage from happening. It preserves the hair bond and hair integrity.”

For Charlie, making his clients feel beautiful is one of the perks of his job. He recommends calling for a hair appointment so the stylist has ample time to discuss the look the client is looking for. They offer the products used to take home to create texture, volume and shine.

“The stylist needs time to see what hairstyle works with your particular facial structure, your work, and your lifestyle. The service is customized to each individual. We want to take the time to get to know you and see what you like, so we can provide the exact service that you need,” said Charlie.

From permanent waves, deep hair conditioning, foil, corrective color to make-up application, comb outs and formal up-dos, Studio 7 covers every need, safely and professionally.

“I get the most happiness from my work by bringing joy and happiness to my customers. We do our best to accommodate when they come in with a haircut not done right or their nails a wreck and then there’s a shift. They leave happy and we were able to do that for them.”
